Stay Awake

1. Jesus prophesied that after the tribulation, the creation would face great catastrophes, and then He will return to gather his elect. (v.24-27)

Application: Don’t build your hope on a world that is passing away, but hope and live looking towards the coming king.

2. Jesus reinforced the certainty of this prophecy. (v.28-31)

Application: Trust the certainty of Jesus’ Word.

-Pay attention to what Jesus says. 

-Trust His promises above changing circumstances. 

-Live with expectation, not speculation. 

3. Jesus emphasized faithfulness in the waiting, not discerning the time of His return. (v.32-37)

Application: Stay awake and faithful until He comes.

-Stay spiritually alert. 

-Stay faithful to your assignment. 

-Stay ready every day.
