Angel Praze Choir
Angel Praze is for children in preschool and kindergarten. Throughout the school year children are exposed to different musical instruments, beginning music theory, and much more each week. Angel Praze holds a Winter performance, Spring performance, and has other opportunities to perform throughout the year.
kidz praze Choir
Kidz Praze is for 1st through 6th graders. Their performances are based on Bible stories and creatively presented like you’ve never seen or heard them before.
Teen Praze is in the initial planning stage. The vision is to offer a high-quality experience for students/teenagers who sing or play instruments in their school, or otherwise, the opportunity to use their talents to worship and praise Jesus. With support from the Minister of Music and Youth Pastor, we are looking for an individual with a basic understanding of music who will serve as the volunteer director/leader for the group. The potential scope of ministry for Teen Praze is exciting.
The Summertime Singers is open to anyone who loves to sing and is comprised of teenagers and adults who provide choir specials during the summer months. At its core are members of the Celebration Choir, but it gives those who serve in other areas of ministry on Wednesday evenings during the school year an opportunity to sing in the choir for the summer. They rehearse from 7:45 to 8:15 on Wednesday evenings in the Choir Suite adjacent to the auditorium. The Summertime Singers do not wear choir robes and primarily sing for the 11:00 AM service, but on special occasions may be invited to sing for the early service.
The celebration choir
The Celebration Choir is open to anyone who is old enough to have graduated from high school. They help provide worship leadership and special music primarily for the 11:00 A.M. service. Sometimes they do seasonal musicals that are designed as community outreach events. Their repertoire is stylisitically broad, including traditional favorites, southern gospel classics, and relevant contemporary songs that are biblically sound and heart-touching. Using music such as that published from The Brooklyn Tabernacle, San Antonio Community Bible Church, Prestonwood Baptist Church, Hillsong Church, Mike Speck Ministries, and others, songs are selected based on their ministry value. Depending on the song, the accompaniment is either live instruments or sound tracks - sometimes both. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:15 in the Choir Suite adjacent to the auditorium. People who attend the early service can also enjoy singing in the Celebration Choir at the beginning for the 11:00 A.M. service and then leave. Typically, those who sing solos or sing as a member of a small group such as duets, trios, quartets, and other ensembles, are exemplery in their faithfulness in the Celebration Choir. A full choir is a sure sign of a healthy church, so we welcome new singers to join us for a rehearsal. Contact Bryant Shipton for more information at email@example.com.
There are a number of opportunities for those who play musical instruments to use their talent for ministry. There are current openings in the early service praise band and an opening for a keyboard player and horn players for the second service on Sunday mornings. Plans are under way to start an instrumental ensemble to play specials and provide live accompaniment for congregational singing and the Celebration Choir. Ultimately, the vision is for the instrumental ensemble to grow into the Celebration Orchestra. If you now play, or have played a musical instrument and would like to get in on the ground level of the instrumental ministry, email Bryant Shipton at firstname.lastname@example.org..
The Highland Bells
The Highland Bells, as you may have guessed, is a bell choir. As a part of the curriculum in the preschool choir, Angel Praze, the children are introduced to playing in a bell choir and everyone loves it when they play for church. The vision is to give teens and adults the unique opportunity to play in a bell choir of their own. We have a beautiful set of professional concert-quality brass bells. With support from the Minister of Music, we are looking for a volunteer director-leader who can help the Highland Bells ring once again. Let us know if you are interested.

The Colors of Sunday Schedule
The Colors of Sunday
What is it? The "Colors of Sunday" is a way for choirs to coordinate their appearance without being in identical costumes, formal wear or robes.
How does it work? First, you are not expected to go out and buy anything new. Second, you can use a neutral base (think black, beige, etc.) and accent it with an accessory, such as a tie or scarf, that has the featured color.
What if I forget or don't get the memo? Every effort is made to keep choir members informed ahead of time, but sometimes someone will show up in a different color and that is ok - you will not be embarrassed, so sing anyway.
What is the purpose of the "Colors of Sunday?" It gives the choir more options than the same robe every Sunday. Surveys taken by church growth groups cite "having to wear a choir robe" as a top reason for singers not joining the choir. Also, "Who wore that robe before me and why do they like that cologne or perfume?" Robes are hot, especially in the summer.
Will we ever wear robes again? Yes, and we will dress up in formal wear for special concerts and costumes for special musicals.
